Desired skills Help Desk or equivalent call center experience. Experience with relational database management systems such as MS Access or Oracle. Experience with web page development tools (such as HTML, DreamWeaver, FrontPage etc) Experience with Visual Basic for applications programming Experience with the development and delivery of information technolify related training Specific Job Description This position is responsible for providing the users of KAPLs centralized information systems and services (ISS) with a single point of contact for service requests, for the reporting and resolution of problems, for answers to "how do I" questions and for training on the use of NR Program standard applications, tools and systems. In addition, this position is responsible for the planning and execution of Help Desk and Training development and enhancement projects, both in a team environment and individually. Specific responsibilities include: Utilize the Help Desk tolls and practices (e.g. Remedy HelpDesk System) to capture, characterize, track and work to closure customer requests for services and problem resolution. Apply appropriate tools, trouble shooting, and problem solving skills to simultaneously manage multiple customer cases with effectiveness and efficiency. Interface with the Information SYstems & Services subsection (ISS) personnel to obtain information and assistance in resolving customer requests and problems. Perform project work and specific project tasks as directed to in support of continuing Help Desk and Training improvement within KAPL and the NR Program. Participate in process and tool improvement efforts within the Information Systems and Services subsection. Selected applicants will be subject to federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. US citizenship is required. Standard Job Description Performs a variety of duties in support of a computer, network (LAN/WAN), and/or client server unit. Reviews input data to verify adequacy and appropriateness of material required for data processing and related operations. Reviews output data to verify completeness, accuracy, and conformance to quality standards and specifications. Maintains internal records and may catalog, disperse, and return tapes/disks. May review daily processing logs and may set or revise schedules.
