Centocor Research and Development, develops innovative biomedicines. The Manager, Medical Writing manages Medical Writers as direct reports in the Medical Writing Department within Clinical R&D. Writes, edits, and oversees Manages the development and timely completion of May support a Clinical Team(CT) as the Medical Writing CT representative, bearing overall responsibility for timely and accurate completion of Medical Writing deliverables. Participates in the establishment of Medical Writing guidelines, departmental decision making, recruitment, and resource assessments. Responsible for the overall development of direct reports, including career coaching, objective setting, and performance reviews. Must be able to work with a high level of independence and be able to train/coach others with regard to teamwork, scientific/clinical interpretation and organization, and project management to ensure movement of Represents Medical Writing on cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications Education: Minimum of BA/BS in a scientific/clinical field; MS, PhD, or PharmD preferred. Related Experience: Minimum of 5 years medical/technical/regulatory writing experience, with experience in a supervisory position, or demonstrated managerial potential or other relevant experience. Must demonstrate excellent writing and organizational management abilities. A background in nursing or another clinically or scientifically related discipline is desirable. Special Training or Certification: Must be well organized, able to pay attention to detail, and willing and able to work under tight timelines.
