Apply to this position Description Ethicon Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Preclinical Surgeon, located in Somerville, NJ. Ethicon, Inc. develops and markets products for surgery, wound management andadvanced wound care treatment. Products are marketed through four divisions: Ethicon Products for precise wound closure and tissue repair; Cardiovations for minimally invasive cardiac procedures; Ethicon Women’s Health & Urology for minimally invasive women’s health procedures; and Johnson & Johnson Wound Management for hemostasis and advanced wound care. This position will be a key member of the Preclinical Affairs organization helping teams develop innovative surgical solutions for Ethicon’s Wound Closure, Wound Management, Cardiovascular and Women’s Health and Urology businesses. You will plan discovery and development programs and originate, design, and/or direct investigations in areas assigned to the laboratory. You will be a key player in developing and implementing efficient Preclinical Strategies, and serve as an ambassador of the group negotiating alignment for these strategies with project teams. You will contribute to the selection, development, and execution of appropriate in vivo models. You will actively interact with the internal and external scientific community to maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge. You will participate in supervisory process, including training and evaluating associate staff, as well as coordinating their work. Qualifications DVM or equivalent experience with 5 to 8 years of industry experience prefered. Board Certification by ACVS is prefered. Strong scientific publications and evidence of scientific initiative. Team orientation. Candidate needs to be highly motivated and a self-starter. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills. Supervisory experience desirable.
