Hi folks, I trying to upgrade a FC5 machine to Fedora 8, but the install just hangs whether I do a graphic install or a text install. Badically I'm doing an upgrade rather than a reinstall, the install spots that FC5 is already on the machine and offers to upgrade that, which of course I say yes to. It then goes off and tries to resolve dependencies for all the packages, gets to 28% and never gets any further. I started to fdo an upgrade Tuesday evening, had to go out for a couple of hours shortly after it had reached the 28% mark, and when I got back in it was still at 28%. For various long winded reasons I left it like that until Friday evening and it was still at 28%. I think it's fairly safe to say that it would never have got any further, so I abandoned it. Can anyone offer any help or insight? Dave PS, I cannot seem to find any CD based distros for F8 apart from live distros. Are there any CD based installs? -- Dave Stratford ZFCA http://daves.orpheusweb.co.uk/ Hexagon Systems Limited - Experts in VME systems development

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I've had a quick google around for a better explanation, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for and am therefore a bit uncertain about what I have found. Do you mind giving me a pointer to some specific docs or info? Many thanks, Dave -- Dave Stratford ZFCA http://daves.orpheusweb.co.uk/ Hexagon Systems Limited - Experts in VME systems development
