Was there a previous Linux installation on the /home partition? Do the
/home/bin, home/dev/, ... directories contain copies of the contents of
/bin, /dev, ...? Why is this crossposted to redhat newsgroups? Did you
install Ubuntu on top of an existing redhat system or verse visa?
