Subject: Curiosity about Address Book; Anyone know?????
From: Ken

I recently posted about the difficulty I was having with my address
book. I bought a laptop with Vista, and copied over all the files for
Eudora from an XP desktop, then reinstalled Eudora to the Vista system.
Everything, mailboxes, old emails, addresses, and all was there, but I
could not edit or add to the address book. In XP the file is
nndbase.toc; what I ended up doing was deleting it in Vista, and
manually added all my addresses. It worked, albeit time consuming, but I
can edit and delete addresses as before.Yet there is no nndbase file
anywhere?
MY QUESTION IS THIS:
Where does Vista store this address book, and under what file name?
I have searched all through it and not found it. The good news is I have
an address book again, but curiosity has me wondering.
Anyone know???????
TIA

Thanks, but that was the first place I looked. Then I did a search for
the file nndbase.toc and came up empty? Very odd, unless it is a hidden
file, but for the life of me I cannot imagine why it would be.
The mystery persists???

On newer installs the nndbase file has a different extension than txt.
You may have been given the option to change it from txt when you
installed Eudora.
I did what you did and did not have any problems like yours.

Will wonders never cease; seems it is a hidden file in Vista. I found it
in the path c:\Users\<profile>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files
\Qualcomm\Eudora
Why on earth would it be a hidden file? Really odd!!!
