I am all for paying off the debt, but taxes kill peoples wealth. Like a parasite sucking too much blood, it makes people sick, work too hard and poor. GST was supposed to pay it off years ago. Since government just expanded to consume the new found wealth, put the debt on a pay back plan just like a mortgage. After all, that is what the politicians in the past did, mortgage our children's future today for government spending out of control.
