The Catholic Church approves of evolution. But isn't this a problem? At what point in our evolution did we acquire souls? If there were a definite such point, then, at that point, being invested with a soul while my progenitors weren't, it would have been ok for me to kill and eat my parents. Did Neanderthals have souls? Surely some wily Jesuit has fired at this issue all the armaments of medieval scholasticism. But I'm unaware of any such analysis. Does anyone on the list know the Vatican position on this issue? -- I am an old man and have known many troubles, but most of them never happened. ---- Mark Twain
